Made from flax grown ecologically in France, Antigone is a beautifully smooth and deliciously glossy linen yarn.

Linen is the oldest fiber known to be used by humans, and it has so many incredible qualities. It's lightweight, cooling, moisture-wicking, and breathable. Not to mention it's wonderfully soft against the skin, and only gets better through washing and wearing. But it's also exceptionally strong, which means any linen garment treated with care will last a lifetime.

Antigone is made from flax grown in Normandy by the Terre de Lin cooperative as part of a project to return to ancient cultivation practices aimed at preserving the soil and producing high quality fibres without chemical inputs. These long fibres are wet-spun in Lithuania with great care to create a regular, soft and naturally shiny yarn. The yarn is then twisted and dyed in France in the Creuse region.

De Rerum Natura is a French brand dedicated to beautiful natural fiber yarns, with quality and traceability at the forefront. The brand is very transparent about where all their fibers are sourced from, as well as where they are milled and dyed. The dyes used on all their yarns comply with the European REACH standard, which is the most restrictive in the world. You can learn more about De Rerum Natura here.

Antigone is perfect for fine knitted or crocheted items like tanks, tees, shawls, and lightweight pullovers. It's also great for children's items, as it will be soft and non-irritating on their skin, as well as breathable and naturally machine-washable. It holds beautiful stitch definition for textured stitches, and holds up really well for knitted and crocheted bags due to it's tensile strength.
